OTHER ACTIVITIES OF APDASCAC
TRAINING-CUM PRODUCTION CENTRES (TCPCs) FOR TRICYCLES :
Under the administrative control of APDASCAC five Training-cum-Production Centres (TCPCs) are functioning for manufacturing of Tricycles at Visakhapatnam, Kakinada, Ongole, Nellore and Anantapuramu.
ARTIFICIAL LIMB MANUFACTURING/CALIPER CENTRES :
Three Artificial Limb Manufacturing/Calipers Centres are undertaking fabrication of Callipers/Artificial Limbs at Visakhapatnam, Nellore and Anantapuramu and supplying to needy Differently Abled Persons by conducting measurement and fitment camps.
TRAINING PROGRAMME FOR DIFFERENTLY ABLED PERSONS :
Training-cum-Production Centre at Visakhapatnam is imparting Training in Technical Trades (ITI) i.e., 1.Painting, 2. Welding, 3.Sheet Metal and   4. Carpentry. 58 Differently abled persons are undergoing training presently with residential facility.
BRAILLE PRESS FOR EMPOWERMENT OF VISUALLY IMPAIRED :
For Empowerment of Visually Impaired, the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, Government of India, New Delhi sanctioned Braille Press to Andhra Pradesh State after bifurcation of State and established at Guntur. The Braille text books from 1st class to 10th class are being printed and distributed to the Visually Impaired students of various schools free of cost. Further the calendars in Braille script are also being prepared and distributed every year free of cost. During the year 2023-24, 2240 Books were supplied to Visually Impaired students and also supplied 2730 calendars in Braille for the year 2023-24 for the Visually Impaired Persons.
Requirement of Braille text books shall be submitted by the schools to the Braille Press, Guntur through the District Manager concerned.
SELF EMPLOYMENT UNDER NDFDC :
2022-23 :
APDASCAC started implementation of Self employment scheme for Persons with Disabilities under NDFDC in the year 2022-23.
APDASCAC obtained loan from National Divyangjan Finance & Development Corporation for self employment units. Sanctioned loan amount of Rs.9.14 crores to 315 beneficiaries selected by committee headed by the JC in Districts during 2022-23.
2023-24 :
An amount of Rs.1.71 crores was released to 59 beneficiaries during 2023-24. Loans were not sanctioned to several selected beneficiaries in the Districts due to Model Code of Conduct under General Elections, 2024.
